How to Curb Your Appetite on the HCG Diet

Avoiding hunger pangs on the hCG diet may help you stick to this very-low-calorie diet. The hCG slimming system pairs a challenging 500, 800, or 12oo calorie-per-day restriction with use of the hCG diet drops for weight loss. Keep your food and calorie allowances in mind while employing tips to curb your appetite on the hCG diet.

Step 1

Plan your daily meals and snacks ahead of time, cutting up fruits, vegetables and preparing lean proteins so they are ready to eat. If you have low-calorie snacks on hand, like pre-cut vegetables, you may be less likely to reach for a more calorie-dense food, such as nuts.

Step 2

Eat frequent, small meals throughout the day. Break up your 500-calorie allowance into five meals with allowances for low-calorie snacks between meal times. You may feel like you are grazing all day, but it can curb your appetite.

Step 3

Drink a large glass of water to trick your stomach and brain. Initially, the nerves in your stomach cannot differentiate between food and water, and your brain will think you are full and cease the hunger pangs.

Step 4

Brew up a mug of hot tea or low-sodium broth. Sip on it between meals or use the broth as a snack. You can even use a spoon and enjoy it like soup.

Step 5

Eat fibrous foods such as vegetables or whole grains. Like protein, the fiber will bring a sense of fullness and help curb your hunger.

Step 6

Brush your teeth after every meal or snack. Brushing your teeth will change the flavor in your mouth and may help curb your snack desire.

Let Calorie Counting Apps Track Your Food Intake

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

It can be hard to keep track of the food you eat and calculate the amount of calories you consume.  Studies confirm the benefits of keeping track of the food you eat.  But recording everything you eat without the right tools can be difficult.

Calorie counting apps make it easy to log your meals as quickly and easily as possible.  The following apps are available for iPhone and Android and many are free to download! Or just search calorie counter to find the right app for you!

Are Food Cravings Sabotaging Your hCG Diet?

Friday, March 30th, 2012

Tips on how to help stop your food cravings so you can stick to your diet and lose weight!

Spread out your food

You need to spread out your food intake throughout the day to avoid your stomach feeling empty.  The hCG diet is flexible in that the only rule about when to eat is to avoid food or drink 10 minutes before or after taking the drops.

Brush your teeth

Nothing tastes good right after you brush your teeth!  And who wants to ruin perfectly clean teeth with food.  This may help you to delay your next snack or meal.

Eat some leafy green vegetables

Lettuces, spinach, and chard are very low in calories so you can eat a lot without exceeding your calorie intake limit.  Leafy greens are also a great source of fiber and vitamins.

Add spices or sweeteners (we recommend stevia)

Spices can make the foods you are allowed to eat on the hCG diet more flavorful and satisfying.  Add cinnamon to a baked apple for a sweet treat.  Sprinkle red chili, garlic, and oregano to spice up your chicken.  Make your vegetables more flavorful with pepper.  Drizzle dark chocolate stevia over sliced strawberries to cure your chocolate craving.  Check out our recipe page to help “spice” up your meals.  http://www.creativebioscience.com/recipes.html

Drink plenty of water

One of the most common errors found on hCG Diet is not drinking enough water. For the best weight loss result, you should be drinking at least 2 quarts of water every day. Water helps your stomach fill full and sometimes thirst can be mistaken for hunger.

Bored with water, try tea

If you are tired of plain old water tea may satisfy your craving.  Try some tea flavored with peppermint or mint for a natural appetite suppressant.  Flavored tea can be very satisfying just make sure to check the labels carefully for added sugar or artificial sweetener.

Make sure you always have some healthy hCG diet approved snacks

Apples, berries, grapefruit, melons, and pears are great sweet treats.  Cucumbers and celery are good crunchy snacks.  Try a pickle for a salty treat, make sure to read the label and avoid pickles with added sugar or sweetener.

Avoid the Most Common Mistakes Made on the hCG Diet

Tuesday, March 20th, 2012

Cheating

Cheating on an hCG Diet doesn’t just slow or stop your weight loss progress, it can reverses it temporarily. Your body latches onto every single molecule of fat because it doesn’t know when it will come again and that is not what you want!  You want your body to continue harvesting unsightly fat stores to make you slimmer.

Using cheap hCG

The hCG Diets are more popular than ever because of the tremendous success of quality hCG products such as our hCG 1234. Our hCG 1234 Diet products are made in the U.S.A., whereas many companies sell cheap hCG diet products made outside of the U.S. Taking a product mixed with other ingredients or poor quality ingredients will cause the metabolism to shut down and will halt weight loss.

Consuming diet soda, alcohol, or juice

The only beverages allowed on the hCG Diet are water, coffee, and tea.

Eating the same thing at each meal

Make sure you are making different selections from the veggie, fruit, and protein categories at each meal.  Eating too much of the same thing each day will cause a stall.

Cooking with oil or butter

Oil is not allowed while on the hCG Diet. Many dieters forget this when they prepare meals.

Not Consuming Enough Water

One of the most common errors found on hCG Diet is not drinking enough water. For the best weight loss result, you should be drinking at least 2 quarts of water every day. If you are water-deprived your body cannot metabolize fat as quickly.

Phase 4 – Maintenance

Friday, March 16th, 2012

After you have successfully stabilized your weight, you are ready to add normal foods back into your diet, including bread and other starchy foods like potatoes, as well as food containing sugar, like mangoes, bananas, and sweets (in moderation, of course).

You will have developed a taste for healthy foods it will be much easier for you to make good eating decisions. You must continue to always weigh yourself in the morning. If you ever go 2 pounds above your lowest achieved weight, a steak day will put you back within your range. It is important to do the steak day on the same day as the gain, otherwise, it is not as effective. You can maintain your new weight forever by following this simple system.

Be sure to read the original Dr. Simeon’s protocol if you have any health concerns, or would like to read about the hCG diet in more detail. We recommend following Dr. Simeon’s guidelines exactly to obtain the best results; the only modification is that instead of taking 1 injection of hCG per day, you will be taking 10 drops of hCG under your tongue 3 times per day.

What is Ketosis?

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

What is Ketosis and can I use Ketostix while on your product?

Being in ketosis means that your body’s primary source of energy is fat (in the form of ketones).  When you consume adequate protein, there is no need for the body to break down its muscle tissue.  Ketosis also tends to accelerate fat loss.  Once the liver converts fat to ketones it cannot be converted back to fat and so it is excreted.  Ketones suppress the appetite and make you less hungry. Testing for Ketones will tell the status “fat burning”.  Being in ketosis by following a low carbohydrate diet is NOT dangerous. The human body was designed to use ketones very efficiently as fuel in the absence of glucose.

Any color change, on the urine test strips, indicates fat burning.  Testing in the darkest purple range all the time is usually a sign of dehydration.  You need to drink more water to dilute the urine and keep the kidneys flushed.  The strips only indicate what is happening in the urine.  Ketosis happens in the blood and body tissues.  If you’re showing even a small amount of color change, then you are in ketosis, and fat-burning is taking place.  Do not worry about the color of your strip.  Some low carbers NEVER show above trace or negative, yet they burn fat and lose weight just fine.  If you’re losing weight, your clothes are getting looser, you’re feeling well and not hungry all the time, then you are successfully in ketosis.  Don’t get hung up on the strips they are just a guide and nothing more.

Frequently Asked Questions Concerning: Menstruation, Constipation, Loading Days, and Sweeteners

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Can I use the drops during my cycle?

Using the drops during menstruation is a personal choice.  The theory in the original protocol was that women make enough hcg during their cycle and the drops are not necessary. However, since remaining on the low calorie diet is essential for success (and hunger during menstruation without drops is a real concern) you are free to continue taking the drops for appetite control.

Be aware that water weight gain may be a factor a week before or after your menstrual cycle and can counteract your weight loss.

I haven’t had a bowel movement in several days…what can I take for constipation?

Since this diet program only allows 500 calories per day, you aren’t eating enough food to create the “bulk” needed to produce a regular bowel movement. The time it takes your digestive system to process your food will determine the frequency of your bowel movements.  While on the diet you may only have a bowel movement every 3-4 days.  Most people interpret this as constipation, it may or it may not be.  If you wish to take something, we recommend Smooth Move Tea.  You can also incorporate Benefiber into your diet.  As always, be sure to drink plenty of water.

What should I be eating on the loading days?

The loading days are best done with high fat foods (pork products, full fat dairy, nuts, peanut butter, avocados, fried foods, pastries, etc.)  Loading with mostly carbs and sugars is not beneficial and will cause problems with hunger early in the program.

Can I use Truvia instead of Stevia?

Stevia is a natural sweetener derived from an herb called Stevia rebaudiana.  Stevia yields the best results on the program.  Truvia is a product that contains both Stevia and Erythritol.  Erythritol is also used as a sweetener and is derived from fruits such as pears, melons, and grapes.  Truvia is not as beneficial on the program as Stevia.  Plus, Stevia comes in several different flavors so it can be used in many recipes.

What Is a Lemonade Colon Cleanse and How Do I Do It?

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

The lemonade colon cleanse will really jump start your weight loss and helps give you remarkable results!  If you can’t commit to a full 10 days of cleansing before starting Phase 2, even 3-5 days will help.

The Lemonade Cleanse Recipe

* 2 Tablespoons of organic lemon juice

* 2 Tablespoons of organic grade B maple syrup

* 1/10 Teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

* 10 oz. of filtered water

This recipe is for a single serving of lemonade.  You should drink 6-12 servings a day.  Make a big batch by multiplying the recipe by the number of servings you plan on drinking that day.  Just make sure to keep it refrigerated and don’t make more than what you plan on drinking over the course of one day.  You want the lemonade to be as fresh as possible when you drink it.
